Streamlining the decision-making process in the TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY

Our client is a public transportation company that had invested in a SAP system in early 1998. Significant reduction of local budgets, the necessity to reduce costs in the context of providing more efficient and qualitative transportation services to citizens, have raised significant problems for our client in its efforts to accomplish its mission and strategic objectives. INTEGRATOR was invited to recommend a solution to efficiently exploit the existing IT systems and streamline the decision-making process.

Streamlining the decision-making process
We introduced the SAP Business Intelligence solution and helped our customer to build its KPIs (key performance indicators) to provide each of its operational managers with an overview of how well their processes and departments are functioning.

Individual dashboards were designed for each manager or business unit coordinator, depending on their responsibilities and role within the company, allowing them to access the data warehouse and find key information and details they needed to monitor and manage internal processes and operations.

One of the biggest challenges in this project was to help our client to enable change toward a new and improved approach to performance management and measurement. Effective Performance Management relies on maturity and discipline in using dashboards, key performance indicators, methodologies and systems to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and financial results.

Better manage the change
At the end of the project, the customer’s team of managers could gain access to analytics capabilities that make it easier for them to deploy, execute, monitor and optimize the company business processes and operational units. The project also offers the framework for promoting the organizational change and leverage the organization capabilities to continuous improve processes, operations and business results.
